Sunny Sunflowers

We have this cute little rocker in our great room. It belonged to my great aunt and I always like to throw a small pillow on it for seasonal decoration. I had a patriotic lighthouse pillow there for earlier this summer, but wished for something else summery when I took care of the red, white and blue things. I thought a bright sunflower would be fun so I decided I would make what I had in mind. I found this beige pillow (it looks more green in this light) on clearance for $4. I poked through the floral department and found a couple of sunflowers, but they were not the right size. I happened to glance over and spotted a large yellow daisy that seemed like it would work. It was $2, so the price was right! I decided I could easily convert it into a sunflower by painting its center chocolate brown when I got home. That's what I did and then assembled this pillow. I love sunflowers. We had one (a miniature variety) that was just about to bloom when the rabbits took it down to the ground. :( At least I can enjoy this one...
