Planting season is here! Maybe you've been digging in your yard or perhaps you're just ready for a new houseplant. Today I am sharing my mini terrarium. A bit over a month ago, my neighborhood ladies' group went on a "field trip" to my favorite local greenhouse/produce shop. The business owner hosted a private class for us and we all made our own mini terrariums. We had a great time! I took an old ivy bowl I had on hand, but any small container will suffice.
We selected our own miniature succulents and were provided the perfect blend of soil. Charcoal was an important component so as to allow for proper drainage. Bits of mosses and mini red (plastic) toadstools were also ready for us.
My little creation has been quite happy in the kitchen windowsill and is coming along nicely. We were taught that the small plants we chose will never become huge, so are well-suited for their tiny environment.
You may recall my artificial mini gardens I made earlier this spring. You can revisit those posts by clicking here and here. While faux plants are no maintenance, I have to say that this real terrarium is almost as easy. We were instructed to use a spray bottle to give the mini garden a few spritzes once a week. It has proven to be the perfect amount of hydration to sustain these little cuties because they are thriving. If you're considering putting together something, it's good to know that you can do either real or not real!
Enjoy your weekend! I send Mother's Day blessings to all of you. Whether your children have hands or paws, you're special. Being a mother doesn't mean you're related by blood. You're related by love! 💗
