The Lovliest Smile

I think autumn is lovely! It satisfies my senses by offering the  sight of beautiful colors, the feel of cooler temperatures, the sound of crunching leaves and the taste of the foods associated with the season.  I  even adore the smell of the woods in fall and if you, like I, had the pleasure of growing-up (or spending time) in a forest you know exactly what I mean! Autumn never lasts long enough for me, though. We decided to enjoy what will soon disappear and so we snuck out for a little fall drive. Although there isn't a lot of vibrant color this year, the predominantly-green country roadsides were still picturesque. Subtle little pops of fall colors, drying grasses and defoliating trees against the backdrop of an autumn blue sky make me smile. Some of these pictures are from our drive and others are from our yard. Maybe they'll bring a smile to your face.

Autumn,
the year’s last, loveliest
         Smile.
