It's another crazy day with little time at home. I had errands, two funerals (one this morning and one later) and a drop-in visit. I have just enough time for a short and sweet post to share my new surprise, though. The drop-in visit was from dear friends who brought us this lovely gift.
Against the fence and monochromatic landscape, it's tough to see. It's a shepherd's crook with a bell. All of it was made by our friend from scrap! Blacksmithing is his hobby and he is enormously creative. His wife is, too, and her talent is quilting. In fact, she is the one who is (patiently) instructing me in that art.
Look at the detail! The bell, shown below, is made from an old oxygen tank.
A chemical rinse produced this lovely finish. The clapper is made from an old washer and I only wish you could hear the beautiful tone it produces.
Next week I will share what I had originally planned for today. I just had to show this unique piece.
I hope you have a blessed weekend!
