That's a Wrap!

I cannot claim this idea or project. When a few of us met Monday to attend a missionary presentation, one of my friends brought this adorable wrap that she and her mother had made for me! It's simple enough, though, that I could make one so I decided to share this unique accessory. If I could do it, so could you!

Here's the best part---aside from attaching the three buttons, there is no sewing involved! You will need:
*no-pill fleece in a neutral color of your choice (I think most fleece is 58 or 60 inches wide. Your wrap can be 58 by 18 or 60 by 18, depending upon the width of yours.)
*three 1 1/4 inch buttons (in your choice of colors)
*sharp fabric scissors
*needle and thread

Easy Wrap
Cut your no-pill fleece with precision as you want crisp, clean edges. Remember that since there is no hem, the raw edges are visible.

Measure up thirteen inches from one end of the wrap and cut a buttonhole with scissors. You'll need to trim it slightly curved (like a smile face). It's 1/4 inch wide and 1 1/4 inches in length. The buttonhole is  about 1 1/2 inches in  from the edge of the fabric.

Along the same edge of the buttonhole, but at the opposite end, you will sew the three large buttons in a row. The space between buttons (from edge-of-button to edge-of-button) measures 1 1/4 inches. The edge of the last button is 7 inches from the end of the wrap.
Spread out, this is what it looks like. See the buttonhole at the top end?

Wrap this around your shoulders and feed all three buttons into the single buttonhole. They will overlap to create a floral effect.

Think of the color possibilities! You could use three different colored buttons or make them all match. Fleece and buttons, of course, are available at fabric and crafting stores/departments.
Let me know if you try it and what combination you create!

That's a wrap for today!
