Wrapped Roses

Yesterday we went to the annual home show, which is something we always enjoy. It's fun to poke along and see the 1,400 booths highlighting everything from tools to plants and much more. You can learn about flooring, remodeling, kitchen gadgets and lawn equipment. One of my favorite exhibits is from a local florist. For $10, you can participate in a class and learn to make some sort of a floral arrangement. The owner leads the workshop and gives all the personal attention needed. Not only is it a lot of fun, but is a bargain price because the fresh flowers, supplies and vase are included. This year we wrapped roses. We could pick any color of roses we wanted, so I had to take these. Aren't they unusual and beautiful? They are called circus roses and I love the way they look like they'd been dipped in orange paint.

Mr. Knoll taught us how to position our 18 roses into an arrangement and then wrap them together with floral tape.
The floral tape is then masked with ribbon and I selected ecru.
By the way, it's not as simple as you'd think!

This is how they do bridal bouquets and they get a lot of
experience, averaging five to thirty weddings a weekend.
Walter Knoll Florist has been in business in St. Louis since
1883 and is now in its fifth generation of ownership!

I hope your weekend is all roses!
